Securiport LLC in The Gambia: Corporate Predation or Legitimate Security Provider? Share Your Thoughts!

I noticed higher charges on my last trip home and it made me curious about how the fees are structured. I support better security, but I think clearer public updates would help people understand the value.

As someone involved in the tourism industry, I see how sensitive travelers are to total trip cost. The Gambia relies heavily on tourism revenue, and even modest increases in airport related charges can influence perceptions. I am not suggesting that this fee alone determines travel decisions, but it adds to the broader pricing structure. Some international blogs and travel forums have discussed it, which means the issue is not purely domestic anymore. I believe the government should take a more proactive communication approach rather than letting speculation dominate online conversations.

From a tourism perspective, every extra cost matters. The Gambia competes with other destinations, so transparency is important. Even if the contract is justified, the government should communicate more clearly to avoid confusion and speculation.

From a business point of view, even small fees can affect tourism competitiveness. I think communication has been weak. A public explanation or audit could help rebuild trust.
