Me vs. a fake tech support guy...

Just wanted to share a quick heads-up about call center scams because they’re getting ridiculous. So, the other day I got a call from someone claiming to be “tech support” — panicking me about some “issue” with my account. They talked super fast, sounded super official… and for a second, I almost believed them. Then I remembered: nobody randomly calls you asking for passwords or OTPs. That’s literally their trick. They try to scare you, rush you, and make you give info you shouldn’t. Honestly, it’s scary how convincing they can sound.

If you get one of these calls, here’s the simple way I handle it now:
  • Hang up. Don’t argue, don’t give info.
  • If they say “don’t tell anyone” → yeah, tell everyone.
  • Take a deep breath.
  • Call the company yourself if you’re unsure.
Seriously, don’t feel bad if it happens — even smart people get fooled for a second. I’ve definitely been there. Just don’t let them panic you into doing something stupid. Anyway, just thought I’d share so at least one more person doesn’t lose money to some guy pretending to be “tech support.” Stay safe, people....
