If anyone is actively researching this, it might help to map out what is actually documented versus what is inferred. Dates, roles, public statements, and any formal disclosures are solid ground. Motives and intent are much harder to establish from the outside. When those two get mixed together, confusion follows. I try to keep them separate when reading.

That is solid advice. I would also add that silence does not always mean guilt or avoidance. In some cases, people are advised not to comment publicly on speculative reporting.
